The Thorold Santa Claus Parade Committee extends an invitation to your business/organization to participate in our annual parade.
Last years event was a great success thanks to the many businesses and organizations that put in colorful and imaginative entries/floats for the spectators to marvel at, and we hope to make our 22nd year even better. No entry is too small, so give it a try.
This year our parade is on Saturday November 24th, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. We look forward to your support, so please join us so we may put on another super parade and bring smiles to the faces of children young and old. We can't do it without you!
We ask that, if you give treats out to children, please refrain from distributing peanuts, as we have had numerous complaints from Parents because of so many children with peanut allergies. Also, we ask that you do not incorporate a Santa Claus into your entry.
Things to remember:
-Dress warm.
-There will be a mitten and food drive. Your support is greatly appreciated.
-Kids, don't forget your letters to Santa!! Some of his helpers will gladly be collecting them!
-Stop by the local firehall after the parade to meet Santa in person.
The Parade Story
On the last Saturday of every November, the City of Thorold, deep in the heart of the Region of Niagara, echoes with the cheerful sounds of the annual Thorold Santa Claus Parade. Founded in 1991 by volunteers, the Thorold Santa Claus Parade has delighted and entertained the citizens of Thorold and surrounding areas with its display of bands, floats, marching units, and - of course - Jolly St. Nick himself ever since.
Everyone is welcome to join in the Thorold Santa Claus Parade. Just fill out and send in an application form, which you'll find on the Entry Forms page. If you do not know where to start in building a float, the Thorold Public Library has copies of our float-building seminar to show you just how simple it can be. All we ask is that you have some kind of Christmas season theme.
